The term “Upper Endoscopy” is a medical procedure that lets Dr. Khodadadian visually inspect the lining of the upper part of your gastrointestinal tract. This includes your esophagus, stomach and duodenum, which is the upper portion of your small intestine.

An endoscopy requires only mild sedation, while the small, flexible video camera is passed through the mouth into either the stomach or intestine to allow the gastroenterologist to identify problems in the gastrointestinal tract and, in some circumstances, remove abnormal growths.
