Urgent care centers treat aggravating cuts, bruises, aches and pains, and emergency rooms treat traumatic, life threatening, injury and illness. It’s that simple. If you need stitches or have a rash, if your child suffered a sprain or you have a sore throat, an urgent care center can take care of you. However, if you are suffering severe chest pain, pregnancy related problems or are losing consciousness, you need to rush to your nearest emergency room.

AG Urgent Care Centers treat illnesses and injury that can’t wait until the next day. If you cut yourself in the kitchen, you don’t want to wait for stitches! If you child sprains her arm at soccer practice you want to make sure it isn’t broken. You don’t want to wait for a clinician’s appointment at the end of the week. That’s what our urgent care centers are for – to make sure that minor illnesses and injuries are diagnosed and treated without long waits.

However, if you are in a car accident, suffer a heart attack or go into early labor, you must go to the emergency room. The ER is designed to treat traumatic injury and serious conditions that require a high level of emergency care including multiple types of diagnostic imaging such as CT scans and MRIs and lab tests.

Urgent care centers are designed to avoid long wait times. Because the conditions we treat don’t require extensive imaging and we don’t care for critically ill patients who arrive by ambulance, we can treat you when you arrive.
