| If you're looking for affordable access to authentic red clay tennis courts in New York City, look no further than the RiversideClay Tennis Association. Located in beautiful Riverside Park near 96th Street, you'll be pleased to find ten beautifully maintained public clay tennis courts. Every tennis enthusiast knows that playing on a red clay court has some specific advantages; as the softest material used to construct tennis courts, players who frequently practice on red clay learn to expertly construct points, which helps them adapt their play to a variety of court types. The Oscar Hijuelos Red Clay Courts in Riverside Park are managed by Riverside Clay Tennis Association—a dedicated non-profit volunteer organization—in association with the Riverside Park Conservancy. In addition to hosting a variety of low-cost youth tennis programs and tennis lessons for adults, the courts are also available for private reservation for a small fee. If you aren't quite ready to sign up for a Riverside Clay Tennis Association membership but still want to take advantage of the beautiful courts, you may purchase an affordable $15 Day Pass online— these courts are proud to be the most affordable in the city. A small selection of the red clay tennis courts are also available for reservation online, but the rest operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.
