Most other centers specialize in LASIK, or a version of LASIK called IntraLase (i-LASIK) that was developed to decrease the chance of complication while cutting the flap. In SafeSight™, instead of cutting your cornea in half, Dr. Chynn merely treats the front surface of your cornea–eliminating the need for the risky cutting step. Fully 90% of all LASIK complications involve the flap, so by not making a flap, we're eliminating 90% of all possible complications (including the most serious ones).
