Please join us as we worship together...as a Christian family...
a family that has limitless size...there is always room....for YOU.

The season of Advent has been observed in some form by Christians for 1500 years. It is a season of preparation and anticipation. Covering the four Sundays before Christmas, Advent calls Christians to focus not only on the coming of Christmas and the story of Jesus first visit to earth, but also the Second Coming of Jesus, still to come. During this special time of preparation, we offer several opportunities to help you and your family connect with the message and meaning of the season.

Lighting the Advent wreath, special decorations and music focus attention on the coming of Jesus. Pastor Widmer will be preaching on "Company for Christmas," focusing on those present at the first Christmas.

Sunday school children will present a Christmas pageant at 10 am on December 12. Kids Klub on December 17 will feature special activities for the whole family and a holiday treat. Family movie night December 18.

We will gather for a candlelight service of Lessons and Carols at 7 pm. Scripture, choir anthems and congregational singing will draw us to the moment of Jesus arrival.

At home, at church, wherever you go in these weeks, focus your attention on the amazing news of the coming of Jesus among us as our Savior.

One hundred years ago, in December, 1910, a few area Baptists met and decided to form a church. The church they envisioned later became Kenmore Baptist Church. Our church started in a former schoolhouse on Ramsdell Avenue. It was formally organized by its 26 members on October 22, 1911.

And so, in December, 2010, we will begin to celebrate the past, present and future of KBC. This observance of our history will begin on Sunday, December 5 with a reception in the parlor immediately following the worship service. Other events will occur over the next months, leading up to a special weekend in October, 2011.

A special committee has started working on appropriate ways to celebrate the past, express thanks for the present and look with promise to our future.
In the words of a long-time member, Doris Scott, "History is the story of the past, but it is also an on-going story. We are today, and every day we live, creating history. Here at KBC it is "His-story". May we continue to faithfully tell HIS STORY."

So come! Celebrate the past, present and future of KBC with us!

Lead them to maturity and ministry
So that we can reach the world for Jesus Christ
