METAL DETECTOR DISTRIBUTORS has been a full-time, full-service, professionally staffed, dealership since 1984 and involved in treasure hunting in the US and abroad since 1971. The owners and operators are rather well-known in the industry and widely published authors with two books and over 250 articles to their credit in the field of treasure hunting, archaeology and metal detecting in many of the leading treasure related publications.

Our fully-stocked showroom is open to the public. We have a large selection of all the latest models from all the major brands on display for you to browse through. We offer unlimited instruction with every detector sold, something mail order and internet-based companies cannot. We are happy to give demonstrations and walk-you-through the basics of metal detecting.

HOBBY- these are the types of detectors commonly used to locate small targets like coins, rings and artifacts in parks, beaches and similar locations.

PROFESSIONAL- this type of equipment is capable of much greater depth than conventional detectors and is primarily used to locate large deep targets of precious metals.

LONG RANGE LOCATORS- are considered professional equipment as they have the ability to pick up a signal from large precious metal targets from a distance and have the added ability to bring you to the exact location.

SECURITY- this variety of detector is used to locate dangerous weapons such as guns and knives hidden on a persons body.
