The Young Adults Group would like to thank everyone for their generous donations and hard work while handing out popcorn and drinks on Washington Avenue. Because of all your help, we were able to gather enough bags and supplies to reach our goal of 50!

Special thanks to Amanda Goff, who has agreed to be the new Sunday School Director! Please keep Amanda in your prayers as she begins this new ministry and seeks Gods guidance and direction for the Christian Education Program at First Baptist.

I have been reading a book entitled, Essential Church? by Thom and Sam Rainer. Dr. Rainers research into the question Why are the 18-35 year olds dropping out of churches across the country was revealing. The bottom line was they did not feel that church was essential to them . . . thus the title of the book. It was not that they did not believe in God. They simply did not think their participation was essential.

Summertime is traditionally a time for family vacations . . . a time away from the routine business of our normal schedules. Sometimes we are able to go away to a lake or the mountains. Or perhaps we just stay at home, but without the pressure of everyday life.
