Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ has forgiven us Ephesians 4:32.
I love being pastor for this crew! They love the Lord and each other and extend a warm welcome to new folks. (If you come for the first time, be sure you get a welcome folder & a loaf of bread.) Sometimes I stand in the doorway after worship and have no one to greet – they’re all still in the worship space talking, or rushing by to get a cup of something before heading to a class.
I love the music, especially singing in the choir; we’ve got a good one! Norma is fantastic on the keyboards. The praise team gives our youth a shot and the iWorship videos are upbeat and lively. We even field an orchestra several times a year.
And I love to teach God’s Word. This group wants to be taught and they pay attention. You’ll find an outline with some blanks to fill in and PowerPoint/Media Shout support (both help focus and memory). Be prepared for an occasional song or movie clip to bring a tear or a laugh.
Oh, and men, we get together on the first Saturday for breakfast. Then the guys who can give some time move out in teams to help people – fix up and clean up kinds of jobs. And disaster relief – we’ve got a trailer ready to roll – both local and to places like Mississippi and Louisiana.
I love it most, because Jesus is here! He shows up frequently and we’re enjoying getting to know Him. Give us a try. You might like it. And best of all, your life might be changed – for the better.
