The establishment of this service organization by the late WILLIAM SHERMAN, who was a veritable pioneer among Jewish Funeral Directors, continued to grow under the incomparable guidance of his son, JOSEPH SHERMAN, who left his own special imprint on SHERMANS. He too was able to pass on this family legacy to another generation. ARNOLD E. SHERMAN and his son faithfully guided SHERMANS for decades until the time of his passing. When ARNOLD left this world, he knew that his son JOSEPH, who had worked by his side for many years, would continue the sacred family tradition. JOSEPH SHERMAN now carries the responsibility passed on from generation to generation.
It is obvious that the evolution of this organization had undergone many changes within the four generations. However, the one thing we will not change is our personal care and concern for every family so that we can, in our way help mitigate the pain during this period.
The exacting demands made upon us in moments of high emotional stress have met with our tactful consideration and unquestioned integrity. Our motto has been "service to those in need". This service is the most essential part of our objective. The evidence of this spirit has been indelibly inscribed upon thousands of unsolicited testimonials that have been gratefully expressed by the families who have been serviced over the years.
It is a tradition with SHERMAN'S FLATBUSH MEMORIAL CHAPEL, INC. to be prepared to serve day and night, regardless of circumstances. Our staff is especially trained to be courteous, thoughtful, and discreet in the arrangement and conduct of a funeral and is instructed to give completely of itself to the needs of each family.
Our well-maintained and tastefully decorated funeral homes serve families of all faiths, denominations, and cultures, and we offer both traditional and non-traditional personalized funeral services. W
